No recording session would be complete without at least one funky twelve-blues and this quintet delivers this one in spades. The tenor and accompanying guitar line has the loose feeling of a Sonny Stitt-Gene Ammons hip shaking swinger. The band gets a chance to stretch out with some blues infected solos by Lew, Steve, Jesse and Tony. Lew returns to trade fours with Tom Whaley before returning to the theme making our sojourn to Kalamazoo a very hip one indeed. Lew wrote this tune in 2009 for dear friends Mary & Henry von Schreiner for their 50th wedding anniversary party….near Kalamazoo!
