Eddie Henderson, trumpet Lew Del Gatto, artistic director, tenor saxophone James Suggs, trumpet Mike Harvey, drums Chuck Bergeron, bass Jerry Stawski, co-bandleader, piano Like many great musicians, jazz trumpeter Eddie Henderson first began practicing his instrument at a young age. Unlike most other musicians, Henderson’s parents were friends with trumpet legend Miles Davis, whose musical influence and encouragement made a tremendous impact on Henderson as he studied his craft. Admired by Davis for his strikingly beautiful tone and musicality, Henderson went on to make a name for himself as a soloist and collaborator, working extensively with Pharoah Sanders, Norman Connors and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, among others. Enjoy a night of crystalline jazz as Henderson joins the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra for a pair of soulful performances.
